It was all Dean Menzies at Camden Lakeside last Sunday as the Spackler regular went from being a standard ol' jacket winner to legendary multiple jacket winner.
Deano became only the fourth golfer in Spackler history to win the jacket on more than one occasion. He joins an elite group including Aaron David, Mike McLean and Dave Elms to ward off the chills in the plaid jacket.

Deano takes the plaid jacket with him to Newcastle for a sea change of sorts where no doubt the local Novacastrians will be fawning over their smartly dressed new arrival.
His score of 47 points must go into the Top 5 of the best scores of all time. Aaron David won with a similar score around Glenmore Heritage and Chris Braithwaite finished with 50 points at Spackler IX. It would be interesting to get a list of the best scores - AD?
Paddy was playing in his last Spackler event before moving to Hong Kong and left without acquiring the jacket. He finished second though, still daylight behind Deano's cricket score.
Paddy was approached on one tee by a curious Spackler Jacket wearing wannabe and innocently asked if he finished second last time they played here.
"Probably", was the reply. And given Paddy's notorious status in finishing second he was 'probably' right.
It may be also interesting to see a list of the best scores off the stick in a Spackler event as Paddy would certainly feature high. His second placing was as a result of a 4-over par 76 off a handicap of nine. With this in mind, in order for him to have beaten Dean's score he would have had to have shot a 3-under par 69.
The prize for the most hungover at a Spackler was awarded to Jimmy who was out to all hours with a cricket end of season piss-up. Jimmy claims to have nearly missed almost every shot in his opening holes and an air-swing was a real possibility.
Phil Ritchie came in second in the hangover stakes, coming very close to 'throwing out the groceries' within a few miles of the golf course. Later, Phil confided that it wasn't so much the after effects from a day at the races but the mere sight of Greeny's pants that had brought on the nauseous feeling. All the same, of you're going to stop the car for a chunder, you should at least follow through to make it worthwhile.
You can see the neausea and high scores were the order of the day. Nine out of 13 players grabbed 36 points or better with four players with 40 points or more.
